JOB TITLE: Sr. Video Engineer
LOCATION: Lorton, VA
REPORTS TO: VP of Operations
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the United States Department of Homeland Security, specifically the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
You will serve as a SME in Large Volume Video Transmission Technologies as related to digital video and audio transmission. You will also provide expert level knowledge and advice on topics that are critical to supporting the missions of the TOU. You will also assist in planning, testing and support for video evidence hardware, software and implementation, and successfully diagnose and resolve technical and hardware issues including assistance to technical support.
Job Requirements:
Demonstrate expert level proficiency in the use, operation, modification, and maintenance of video evidence equipment through relevant work experience and/or training in at least one of the five following fields, and also must possess at least a comprehensive knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, techniques, use, and operation of technical video evidence equipment relative to the remaining fields for video evidence transmission/collection:
• Digital microwave/Wi-Fi/Mesh networked video systems.
• IP Video systems.
• Video compression, encryption, and authentication.
• Low light camera solutions.
• Video Management Systems (VMS) servers and evidence network storage, archive, and distribution systems.
Twelve (12) years total of experience with RF Transmission technologies; six (6) minimum in specialty or with large volume video technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Master of Science Degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience is required.
(12 years relevant work experience may be substituted for a Master’s Degree. Bachelor’s Degree Plus 8 years relevant work experience may be substituted for a Master’s Degree.)
