JOB TITLE:            Senior Engineer

LOCATION:         Washington, DC

REPORTS TO:      Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The candidate will be expected to provide input to project scope, schedule and budget baselines based on an understanding of the program or system development lifecycle with particular emphasis on engineering scope, cost, production and requirements conducted with the Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) as the Non-Contract Government Integrator. Responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining changes to project baselines, monitoring deliverables, conducting reviews, and managing development and incorporation of strategies to address service life considerations and assessment to include structural airframe durability, electrical re-wire, system architectures for sensor management, communications and spectrum management, instrumentation and evolving navigation requirements;
• Preparing draft presentations and other materials to support project and/or system functions;
• Leading activities to identify project risks and developing mitigation plans;
• Drafting correspondence, reports, white papers, position papers, minutes, spreadsheets, communications products, briefs, and other documentation; and
• Maintaining and tracking action items, and participating in acquisition information management, acquisition strategy and project management planning.

 Experience/Educational Requirements:

• A minimum of ten years of experience in developing and managing multiple, complex projects and deliverables for major aeronautical systems acquisitions or sustainment is required.
• Experience in Coast Guard (CG) procedures (CG aeronautical practices as defined in Commandant Instruction Manual CIM 13020.1 (series) utilizing the Asset Computerized Maintenance system (ACMS), Asset Logistics Management Information System (ALMIS), and Asset Maintenance Management Information System (AMMIS)) for Coast Guard-unique avionics and mission system architectures as installed or being developed for Coast Guard aircraft is desired.
• BS/BA Degree relevant to the job requirements
• Candidate must pass a favorable background investigation
